dc.description.abstractThis descriptive study aimed to investigate the correlation between employment status and quality of life in secondary school children. The study sample included 450 students aged between 13-15 years, attending secondary schools in Fethiye, Mugla. The Sociodemographic Data Form and Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory Adolescent Form were used for data collection. The study results indicated that students who were not employed had higher levels of academic success. Employed students had lower scores of psychosocial health and school functionality subdimensions in comparison to those who were not employed, which was found to be statistically significant. As regards to durations of employment, there was also a statistically significant difference between physical health, psychosocial health, social functionality, school functionality scores and total score averages It was found out the students with lower income levels had lower levels of quality of life. © Kamla-Raj 2016.en_US
