Türkiye’ de Fizyoterapi ve Rehabilitasyon Alanında Lisans ve Lisansüstü Eğitim Veren Yeterli Sayıda Üniversite Var Mıdır?

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışmayla Türkiye’ de fizyoterapistler için yeteri kadar lisansüstü eğitim veren program ve öğrenci kontenjanı olup olmadı- ğı araştırılmak istenmiştir. Gereç ve Yöntem: Yüksek Öğretim Kurulu web sitesinden lisans eğitimi bulunan ve üniversitelerin sağlık bilimleri enstitülerinin web sitelerinden lisansüstü eğitimi bulunan FTR bölümleri belirlenmiş- tir. Türkiye’ deki toplam fizyoterapist sayısı hakkında net bilgiye ula- şılamadığı için sadece 2017 yılında mezun olması beklenen öğrenci sayısı ile aynı yıl lisansüstü eğitim veren üniversitelerdeki öğrenci kontenjanları karşılaştırılmıştır. Bulgular: Türkiye’de toplam 80 FTR bölümü bulunduğu, devlet üniversiteleri içerisinden 15’inin yüksek lisans, 12’sinin ise yüksek lisans ve doktora programı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. 2016-1017 eği- tim yılı bahar döneminde yaklaşık 5000-6000 kişinin mezun olması beklenirken, devlet üniversitesinde lisansüstü programa kayıt yaptır- mak isteyen bir fizyoterapist için açılacak kontenjan sayısı en fazla 100-200 arasında olmaktadır. Sonuç: Türkiye’ de klinik yeterliliğini geliştirmek isteyen ve bilimsel araştırmalara katılmak isteyen fizyoterapistler için lisansüstü eğitim veren üniversitelerin sayısının ve öğrenci kontenjanlarının artması gerektiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

Objective: In this study, it is aimed to investigate whether there are as many post-graduate programs and student quotas for physiothe- rapists in Turkey. Materials and Methods: FTR departments with undergraduate edu- cation on the website of the Higher Education Council and post-gra- duate education on web sites of health institutes of universities were identified. As there is no clear information about the total number of physiotherapists in Turkey, only the number of students expected to graduate in 2017 is compared with the quotas of universities offering graduate education in the same year. Findings: It has been determined that there are 80 FTR departments in Turkey and 15 of the state universities have masters and 12 of them have masters and doctoral programs. It is expected that ap- proximately 5000-6000 people will graduate in the spring semester of 2016-1017 education year, but the maximum number of quota to be opened for a physiotherapist who wants to register in the state university with a graduate program is expected to be about 100-200 people. Conclusion: It is necessary to increase the number of universities and student quotas for physiotherapists who wish to improve their clinical competence in Turkey and participate in scientific research.
