n the present study, the consumer perception and consumption level of Geographically Indicated Products (hereafter GIP) in the Tokat province of Turkey has been investigated. The data were collected from 382 consumers through a questionnaire. Artificial neural networks and decision tree models were used to determine the factors affecting the consumers' consumption of the specified products. Results indicated that the variables of monthly walnut consumption, whether Niksar walnuts are known to be a GIP, monthly income level, the willingness to pay more for a GIP and whether they read labels on GIP packaged products affected consumption.

Agricultural cooperatives have important contributions to farmers. Thanks to cooperatives, agricultural products are sold at high prices, while agricultural inputs can be purchased at low prices. Cooperatives provide their partners with technical support in product processing, grading, standardization, storage and quality. On the other hand, cooperatives contribute to the sustainability of agricultural activities by providing credit support to their members. The current research was carried out Milas district of Mugla province, which is the center of pine honey production in Turkey. In the current research, a survey was conducted face to face with 62 farmers engaged in beekeeping, and the decision tree model, which is one of the data mining methods, was used in determining the factors that affect the beekeepers' membership in cooperatives. As a result of the statistical analyses conducted, it was concluded that on the cooperative membership of beekeepers, their status of using credit, education level and status of receiving beekeeping supports have a highly significant influence. Bu çalışmada, Milas ilçesinde zeytin hasat şenliği kapsamında yer alan etkinlikler, kırsal turizme olası katkıları açısından değerlendirilmiş ve konuya ilişkin öneriler getirilmiştir.; Today, various festivals are organized about lots of different fields ranging from art and culture to sports and gastronomy. In recent years, the number of agricultural- themed festivals in countryside has rapidly increased both in Turkey and around the world. The examples of olive harvest festivals stand out especially in countries that produce olive and olive oil mostly. Generally, the aims of the festivals are to promote local assets, to increase the production and marketing and then to support local development. In Turkey, Milas is ranked in the first places among the districts that have high potential of olive and olive oil production. In this regard, olive harvest festivals are held in Milas in order to draw attention to high quality olive and olive oil production. With the help of festivals in question, rural tourism activities have been revived and added value to the local economy has been provided. In the study, activities of olive harvest festivals in Milas are discussed in terms of contributions to rural tourism and some related suggestions are made.

<summary type="text">Determination of information resources of earthen pond fish farmers in Milas district, Mugla province, Turkey
Çukur, Tayfun; Saner, Gamze
This study aimed to identify the main sources of information for earthen pond fish farmers in the Milas district of Mugla province. The main materials were obtained from 56 earthen pond fish farmers, constituting 39% of all earthen pond fish farmers in the study area. Results show that earthen pond fish farmers' own knowledge and experiences are regarded as important information resources. Probit models were used to determine the factors affecting the information acquisition decisions of earthen pond fish farmers. PC/internet usage had positive significant effect on earthen pond fish farmers' information acquisition decisions related to fish feeding. In contrast, earthen pond fish farmers' education level, and earthen pond fish farming experience had negative significant effect. Earthen pond fish farming experience had negative significant effect on earthen pond fish farmers' information acquisition decisions related to fish disease and pest control. Earthen pond fish farming experience, credit usage and reading newspapers had negative significant effect on earthen pond fish farmers' information acquisition decisions related to pond maintenance. Earthen pond fish farming experience, participation in the seminars about earthen pond fish farming and listening radio had positive significant effect on earthen pond fish farmers' information acquisition decisions related to fish marketing. In contrast, number of earthen ponds had negative significant effect.
