dc.description.abstractNowadays, water security becomes the first position in the list of directions that ensure sustainable agricultural production. So, modern water supply systems must take into account climate changes and guarantee the reliability of the water systems. This direction must be based on the rational water use standards, which provide for the reduction of unproductive water losses. Thus, the reliable operation of irrigation systems is directly connected with the reliable work of pumping stations, and its most widespread part—water outlet facilities of the siphon type. The features of water outlet work are connected with transient hydraulic and mechanical processes, which arise at start-ups and stops of pumps. One of the major tasks of water outlet facilities is to prevent the flow of water from the elevated reservoir into the drainage pipeline. The article is devoted to mathematical modelling of operating of new innovative construction of floating water outlet with a hollow valve member. During the research, there were realised the following aims: carried out the mathematical modelling of transient processes based on laboratory hydraulic tests of water outlet facilities with the vertical movement of the valve member; developed a method for calculating hydromechanical transient processes in the water outlet at the stop and start of the pump; evaluated the efficiency of water outlet use. A new design of a water outlet facility with a vertical displacement of the breakdown valve was explored. Under the results of the mathematical modelling of transient hydraulic and mechanical processes, there were justified geometric parameters. The created mathematical model gives a possibility to determine the parameters of the floating water outlet and will increase the reliability of the pumping station components’ operation.en_US
