Hydrogen storage
Abstract
Hydrogen is becoming increasingly acknowledged as the energy carrier of choice for the 21st century. Hydrogen gas is a clean, highly abundant, and nontoxic renewable energy, and when it is used in different systems as fuel cell or burner, it releases only water vapor into the environment. There are still some problems with the use of hydrogen. The most important problems encountered are in the storage of hydrogen. Therefore, any method of storage is not allowed to considerably increase the cost of hydrogen fuel. This chapter focuses on various hydrogen storing methods that can be employed for creating a hydrogen economy. The latest advancements that have been made on different hydrogen storing materials and hydrogen storing technologies, which have proven useful both on gravimetric and volumetric basis have been shown
