Mathematics in Pre-School Education Program in Turkey: Planning and Implementation
Abstract
This study was conducted to examine the planning and implementation status of mathematics education in the program by teachers working in pre-school institutions. The target population of the research was composed of teachers who worked in pre-school education institutions in Turkey. A total of 165 randomly selected teachers were included in the sample group within the accessible population. A descriptive survey model was used in the study."General Information Form" for collecting general information about teachers and "Mathematics Education Assessment Teacher Form in Pre-School Program" which was originally developed by Clements and Sarama (2000/2014) as part of the Building Blocks project in the United States were used after validity issues are provided. In the analysis of the data gathered in accordance with the research purpose; frequency and percentage distributions were used and the research findings were also discussed in relation to the current literature.
