Kaya village carpets
Abstract
Kaya, village carpets, which have a special place in Turkish art of carpet with its unique color, motif and design features, are not well known since they are weaved only in Kaya, village of Fethiye slid in its surroundings therefore, they do not become wider. Those carpets had interactions with different designs because the area was an important trade center through the history of the area and because of the migrations from the different settlement areas of Anatolia. However, by the time, they became unique motifs and designs thanks to the skill and delight of the Turkish people. Kaya village carpets have a central design, they are small and angled. Corner. and center designs are made by the utilization of the plant motifs that are stylized. For the ground of the carpet, red and dark blue colors are largely used. In addition, tones of red and blue, yellow, orange, green, white and black are the colors, which are mostly used. Today, by the time, the art of weaving carpets is becoming unpopular because pensions and restaurants' business which is the branch of tourism in the village has gained importance.
