Preparation and characterization of Ti-Zr PILC as a novel catalyst for catalytic deep oxidation of trichloroethylene
Özet
Ti-Zr multioxide pillared interlayered clays (PILC) systems were synthesized to evaluate candidate catalyst material for chlorinated VOC (CVOC) deep oxidation. Trichloroethylene (TCE), which is the most toxic CVOC, was used as model compound. The destruction of CVOC by the catalytic oxidation was carried out in a packed-bed reactor. The reactor operated at 35,000 GHSV, 200°-500°C with 500 ppm of TCE used for activity studies. The catalytic activity of Ti-Zr PILC systems are elucidated, e.g., PILC was the most active catalyst with 92% TCE conversion and ? 100% CO x yield.
