Türkiye'de Sosyolojinin Kimliği

Abstract

Türkiye'ye sosyolojinin girişi Osmanlı'nın son dönemlerinde modernleşme hareketlerinin etkisiyle olmuştur. Sosyolojiye, çöküş sürecindeki devleti kurtarma misyonu yüklenmiş, bu yüzden sosyoloji resmi ideolojiye paralel olarak şekillenmiştir. Bu durum Cumhuriyet döneminde de devam etmiş; sosyoloji, resmi ideolojiyi topluma benimsetme, iletme ve meşru kılma amacını taşımıştır. Bu yüzden Türkiye'de sosyoloji topluma yeni bir kimlik inşa etmek için bir araç olarak kullanılmıştır.

The introduction of sociology in Turkey took place during the last periods of the Ottoman Empire as an effect of the modernisation movements. Sociology was charged with the mission of saving the collapsing state, and as a result sociology was shaped along with the official ideology. This situation continued during the Republican Era and sociology carried the aim of dissemination and legitimation of the official ideology. For this reason, we can suggest that sociology is used as an apparatus to construct an identity for the society.
