Creative thinking is among the basic skills to be acquired within the context of the Turkish language teaching program, which aims to teach students how to express their opinions in a coherent manner, how to use expressions leading to different ideas, how to create cause and effect relationships, and how to make classifications and comparisons. The text produced at the end of this process is usually lacking in originality. In the present study, the document analysis method based on the determination of the pre-service Turkish language teachers' reviews of poems and stories and whether they turned them into creative writing was used. After the students were confronted with the literary works, improvements in their written works were observed in terms of fluency, consistency and originality in the expression of feelings and thoughts.en_US
