In this study, tension force performance of T-type furniture joints with laminated veneer lumber prepared from domestic and tropical wood were compared. In the experiments, three different types of laminated veneer lumber created by combining elements of the T-type, two different frame type, glued mortise and tenon and non-glue dowel-minifix two joints techniques were used in the test. 120 test samples were performed under static loads subjected to linear tensile tests. The wood material, oak (Quercus petraea liebl.) and mahogany (Swietenia mahogan) and limba (Terminalia superba) wood were preferred because of their frequent use in the Turkish Furniture Industry. According to the results of the experiment, the highest tensile strength performance were obtained in the loading position of the joints perpendicular to the surface, laminated mahogany glue-mortise and tenon joints prepared ingredients, aside from the installation of the vertical position of the joints, oak glued laminated veneer lumber prepared mortise and tenon joints. According to the type of joints, non-glue dowel-minifixed fasteners produced the best results in the joints perpendicular to the installation surface with; whereas, tenon glued joints were found to be more successful in the joints perpendicular to the edge loading mortise.. When tensile strength performances of the test samples were examined according to the frame types, the combined elements from the surface were found to be more successful than edge-combining elements.en_US
