Hungarians And Turkish Thesis Of History
Özet
Ataturk first came into contact with Hungarians during the developing relationships in the last periods of Ottoman State when the Turkish and Hungarian friendship made a big stride. Due to his interest in the science of history, Ataturk, who knew the Hungarian history well, made efforts to improve the friendship between Hungary and Turkey following the foundation of The Turkish Republic, and made use of the Hungarian experts in almost every field. In a period of fast development in cultural relationships between Turkey and Hungary, Ataturk not only got help from Hungarian scientists for the thesis of history he had been working on but also got the Hungarian Institute established to scientifically uncover the relationships between Hungarian Language and History and Turkish Language and History, and to promote the studies of Hungarian Language in Turkey parallel to the studies of Turkish Language in Hungary and to contribute to Turkish Language and History. Hungarians received Ataturk's thesis of history that also relates to Hungarian history with interest and admiration. The present study aims to present Ataturk's thesis of history and his view of Hungarians and Hungarians' perception of the works done by Ataturk in the field of history based largely on Hungarian sources.
