An Unsymmetrical Perylene Diimide Dye Modified Carbon Felt Electrode as A Novel Electrochemical Platform for Dopamine Detection
Abstract
A novel perylene diimide (PDI-C8SAc) was used as a modifier for carbon felt electrode (CFE) and prepared modified electrode was applied for dopamine detection. Obtained electrochemical current was almost 15-fold higher compared to plain CFE. Also a cathodic shift in the peak potential was obtained indicating the electrocatalytic effect of the developed sensor. Under optimized experimental conditions, a linear range was observed between 1-100 mu M with a limit of detection value of 0.084 mu M (n=3). The fabricated sensor was successfully utilized for the dopamine determination in dopamine based medicines.
