dc.description.abstract | Mallorca is the largest part of the Balearic Islands and is one of the earliest tourist destinations in the Mediterranean basin. Due to its importance in the Mediterranean basin, the main objectives of this paper are to: (1) discuss tourism development in Mallorca by evaluating tourism data on various categories such as accommodation capacity, foreign tourist arrivals, distribution of tourist arrivals by nationality, average length of stays, foreign tourist arrivals by months, and tourism receipts; (2) review tourism planning strategies and policies applied, current marketing efforts and the main existing problems in respect of tourism development. | en_US |
