Barley powdery mildew (Erysiphe graminis DC f. sp. hordei MARCHAL) in the Aegean Region
Abstract
This research was carried out to measure the field reaction of Turkish and some foreign originated barley varieties of which resistance genes were previously tested. In this research, 21 two-rowed barley and 8 six rowed barley varieties were used as material. Based on recordings of the field reaction of several barley cultivares during the past three years, resistance was conferred by the combination of genes carried by some two-rowed varieties such as Alexis and Guannar. Among the six-rowed varieties , BDMA-13 (Kıra! 97), carrying genes Mlh and Mla8 was found to be moderately resistant in the last two years.
