Turistlerin Destinasyon Seçiminde Yöresel Yemeklerin Rolü: İzmir Yarımadası'nı Ziyaret Eden Turistlerin Görüşleri Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Abstract

Bu çalışmada İzmir Yarımada'sını ziyaret eden turistler açısından yöresel yemeklerin destinasyon tercihi üzerinde oynadığı rol araştırılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında İzmir Yarımadası'nı ziyaret eden yerli ve yabancı turistler üzerinde (n=430) bir alan araştırması yürütülmüştür. Çalışma sonuçları turistlerin Yarımada'yı tercihlerinde yerel yemeklerin belirleyici bir rol oynamadığını, ancak bölgedeki konaklamaları sürecinde yaşadıkları yemek deneyimleri sonucunda yerel yemekleri beğendiklerini ve yerel yemekler noktasında tanıtım eksikliğinin söz konusu olduğunu göstermektedir

In this study, the role that local food plays on destination choice was investigated from the point of view of tourists visiting Izmir Peninsula. In the scope of the study, a field research was conducted on domestic and foreign tourists (n = 430) who visit Izmir peninsula. The results of the study showed that local food did not play a prominent role when the tourists were making their preferences of the Peninsula, however, they liked the local food as a result of eating experiences they went through while they were staying in the region, and there was a lack of promotion of local food
