Menderes Magnesiası Hypokaustlu Yapı Kazılarında Bulunan Laterna’lar*

Abstract

Bu makalenin konusunu Menderes Magnesiası Hypokaustlu Yapı kazılarında ele geçen laterna’lar oluşturmaktadır. Yapıda 27 örnekle temsil edilen ve 9’u burada sunulan laterna’lar Magnesia üretimleridir. Tamamı aynı formda üretilmiş olup aralarındaki tek farklılık bir kısmının gövdesinin delikli, çoğunluğunun ise deliksiz oluşudur. Bu laterna’lardan bir kısmı diplerinde çömlekçi işareti taşımaktadır. Bu işaretlerden biri, Magnesia üretimi bir başka kap formu üzerinde de tespit edilmiş ve bu sayede Magnesia laterna’ları kesin olarak M.S. 3. yy.’a tarihlendirilmiştir.

The main subject of this article is composed of lanterns found in the Hypocausten structure in Magnesia on the Meander. The lanterns, were represented by 27 examples in the structure and were examined 9 examples of them in this study, are Magnesian products. The only difference between them is that the body of some of them are perforated and the majority of them are non-perforated. On the base of the some of these lanterns are seen potter’s mark. One of the same this mark was also seen on another pottery form, also Magnesian production, thus, the Magnesian lanterns were dated to 3rd century AD certainly.
