Pre-service teachers’ opinions about the application level of elementary school program
Abstract
Bu araştırmada, 2005 yılında Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından uygulamaya konulan İlköğretim Programı’nın uygulanma düzeyinin öğretmen adaylarının görüşleri doğrultusunda değerlendirmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Muğla Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi, Türkçe, Sosyal Bilgiler, Sınıf ve Fen Bilgisi Öğretmenliği Bölümleri’nin 4. sınıfında öğrenim gören 306 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın verileri araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen “İlköğretim Programının Uygulanma Düzeyini Belirleme Anketi” ile elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde frekans ve yüzde kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları, öğretmenlerin etkinlikleri etkili bir şekilde uygulayamadıklarını, içeriğe uygun yöntem, teknikleri seçemediklerini ve kazanımlara uygun değerlendirme tekniklerini kullanmadıklarını; buna karşın sınıf dışı gezi ve gözlemlere yer verdiklerini, öğrenme sürecinde öğrencilerin tartışma, fikir sunma, sorgulama etkinliklerine katılarak bilgiyi yapılandırdıklarını göstermektedir. The present study aims to evaluate to what extent the elementary school program put into force in 2005 has been implemented, basing on the opinions of the pre-service teachers. Study group of the present study consists of 306 fourth year students from the departments of Turkish Education, Education of Social Sciences, Science Education and Elementary Classroom Education at the Education Faculty of Muğla University. The data were collected through & #8220; Determination of the Elementary School Program Implication Questionnaire& #8221; developed by the researchers. Frequencies and percentages were calculated to analyze the data. The results of the study showed that the teachers cannot carry out the activities effectively, they cannot select techniques and methods complying with the content and they cannot use assessment techniques appropriate for evaluating the students& #8217; gains. As a conclusion, it was found that 2005 elementary school program has not been implemented effectively.
