Finansal Piyasaların Gelişmesinin Ekonomik Büyüme Üzerine Etkileri: 1998-2014 Türkiye Örneği
Abstract
Bu çalışmada 1998-2014 yılları arasında 68 gözlemden oluşan 3 aylık veriler kul- lanarak finansal gelişme ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki nedensellik ilişkisi in- celenmiştir. Nedensellik ilişkisini test etmek için Granger ve Toda-Yamamoto ne- densellik analizleri kullanılmıştır. Analizlerde hem talep takipli hipotezi hem de arz öncüllü hipotezi destekleyen sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Yapılan nedensellik analizlerinde, nedensellik ilişkisinin yönünün finansal gelişme için kullanılan de- ğişkenlerin seçimine duyarlı olduğu görülmektedir This study analyzes the causality relationship between financial development and economic growth using quarterly data from 68 observations between the ye- ars 1998 and 2014. To test the causality relationship between financial develop- ment and economic growth, Granger and Toda-Yamamoto causality tests were used. The results that were obtained in the analyses support both the hypothesis with a supply premise and the hypothesis with demand monitoring. The causality tests showed that the direction of the causality relationship was sensitive to the selection of the variables used for financial development.
