Sürdürülebilir Turizm Açısından Alternatif Turizmin Önemi: Marmaris Örneği

Abstract

Sürdürülebilir turizm, son yıllarda sıklıkla incelenen önemli bir konudur. Turizm sektöründe, arzı oluşturan unsurlar arasında doğal, kültürel ve ekonomik kaynaklar yer almaktadır. Paket tur kavramı ve her şey dahil sistem ile birlikte yoğunlaşan ve artış gösteren talep, beraberinde birtakım olumsuzluklar getirmektedir. Bu bağlamda doğal, kültürel ve ekonomik kaynakların hızla tüketildiği görülmektedir. Turizm sektöründeki yoğun talep nedeniyle oluşan tüketim biçimi, söz konusu kaynaklar ile üretilen ürünlerin de son bulması anlamına gelecek ve belki de turizm sektörü açısından tehlikeli bir durum oluşacaktır. Kaynakların yok olmasının engellenmesi ve turizmin mümkün olduğunca daha geniş süreçlere yayılması için, turizmin sürdürülebilirliğinin sağlanması gerekmektedir. Bir bölgenin sahip olduğu bütün kaynakların (özellikle deniz, kum ve güneş kaynağı) kıt ve tükenebilir olduğu düşünüldüğünde, turistleri seyahate yönlendiren amaçların veya isteklerin değiştirilmesi suretiyle turistik ürünlerde çeşitlendirmeye gidilmesi bir yönüyle zorunluluk olmaktadır. Turizmin sürdürülebilir olması için, sektörün içinde yer alan bütün paydaşların katılımı sağlanmalıdır. Yöre halkı, turistler ve turizm çalışanları, turizm bölgelerinde sürdürülebilirlikte baş aktör konumundadırlar. Dolayısıyla paydaşların konu ile ilgili düşünceleri, tutumları ve algıları belirleyici durumdadır. Çalışmanın amacı da Marmaris gibi doğal güzelliklerin fazla olduğu turistik bölgede, uygulanması gereken alternatif turizm ürünlerini ortaya koymak, söz konusu alternatif turizm türlerine yönelik, turizm paydaşlarının (turistler, yöre halkı ve sektör çalışanları) düşüncelerini belirleyebilmektir

Sustainable tourism is an issue being studied quite often in recent years. In tourism sector; natural, cultural and economic sources exist among the constituents ingendering the supply. The demand increasing and intensifying together with the all inclusive system and the concept of package tour bring some negativism with themselves. In this regard; the natural, cultural and economic sources are seen to be consumed rapidly. The way of consumption because of the intensive demand in tourism sector will also mean the end of the productions generated by the aferomentioned sources and probably form a risky situation in terms of tourism. The prevention of disappearance of the sources and spreading tourism into wider processes require obtaining the sustainability of tourism. Seeing that the sources of a region (particularly the sources such as sea, sand and sun) are scarce and expendable, it has been a must in a way to try diversifying the kinds of touristic product and services by changing the aims and wants which direct tourists to travelling. The contribution of all partners in the sector must for the sustainability of tourism. The local people, tourists and workers in the sector are the leading actors in the sustainability in tourism regions. Therefore, the opinions, attitudes and perceptions of the partners related to the issue are in a determinant position. The aim of the this study is to be able to determine the ideas of tourism partners (tourists, local people and sector workers) towards aforementioned alternative tourism varieties and to reveal the alternative tourism productions that needs to be implemented in the touristic cities such as Marmaris which is full of natural beauties
